- Promote the viable development of coastal zones.
- Conduct research projects, in partnership with businesses and other coastal zones stakeholders, that foster resources development, improved transformation processes, the development of value-added products and protection of the environment.
- Support and promote research/innovation with a view to enhancing commercial competitiveness, the quality of products and protection of the environment.
- Support companies, governments and the community as a whole in developing value-added products in order to increase commercial profitability and improve the employment situation in coastal zones.
- Gather and make available to industry the latest information on technologies, new products, and the markets associated with coastal zone resources.
- Promote and facilitate the participation of professors/researchers and students in research activities/innovation related to coastal zones.
- Establish a collaborative network with researchers from the Université de Moncton and other academic, public and private partners involved with coastal zone resources.
- Support businesses in preparing technology transfers and research/innovation projects, and in their efforts to obtain financing.
